About butyl rubber:

The Super Tape is commonly known as foil tape. These tapes come with butyl rubber , an extruded, ever-sticky and pressure-sensitive sealant with good bonding strength. They can seal against water, air or dust instantly and remain permanently soft.
They are ideal for filling gaps and sealing joints such as on bolted duct flanges and circular ducts in HVAC systems , air conditioning enclosures , roofing and cladding systems , caravan roofs and panels, automotive windscreens and tail lights, glass and metal .

Resistant to chemicals, heat and weather.
High Tack cold weather adhesive.
Excellent insulating properties, fireproof.
Excellent adhesion even at low temperatures.
